Biography
Maya Wou is a painter and printmaker from Montreal whose work examines how feminism, consumer culture, and emerging technologies like AI shape contemporary visual life. Blending digital aesthetics with traditional media, her paintings and prints investigate how images, especially of the female body, are produced, circulated, and commodified across both physical and virtual spaces.
Combining crisp, media-influenced forms with tactile material processes, Wou highlights the tension between digital perfection and embodied experience, prompting viewers to reconsider how identity, desire, and power are constructed in an image-driven world.
She holds a BFA in Studio Arts and Art History from Concordia University.
